A coca bush looks like a blackthorn. The height of the plant is 2-3 m. The branches are straight, the leaves are thin, green in color, oval in shape, tapering at the tip.
Coca flowers are small, located in small groups on short stems, the corolla is composed of five yellow-white petals, anthers are heart-shaped, the pestle consists of three carpels, combined to form a three-parted ovarian chamber. Flowers ripen in red berries.

The pharmacologically active component of coca is the alkaloid cocaine, contained in an amount of 0.2-1% in fresh leaves. In addition to cocaine, the coca leaf contains many other alkaloids, including methylenehexine cinnamate, benzylekgoin, truxillin, hydroxytropacocaine, tropacocaine, ecgoin, couscogyrin, dihydrocuscogyrin, nicotine and hygrin.
Some of these non-psychoactive alkaloids are still used as an additive to Coca-Cola, according to unofficial data, Coca-Cola company purchases more than 1000 tons of coca leaf syrup from Peru for its production.

The coca seeds offered in our store are fresh, constantly brought from plantations located near Cuzco (Machu Picchu). Fresh coca seeds of the last harvest are stored for about three months.

How to germinate coca seeds?
You need to germinate the seeds in a special soil and adaptation as a greenhouse. At the bottom there will be soil, on top there is a transparent cap cut out of a plastic bottle. Seeds need to be distributed over the entire surface of the soil and sprinkled on top with a small amount of soil, about 1 cm. Then pour warm water. The soil should be moist, but not wet. After that, cover with a transparent cover and place in a dark warm place. You need to wait 4-5 weeks. All this time you need to ensure that the soil does not dry out. No fertilizer is needed until the plant reaches 3 months of age. After the sprouts appeared, they need to be exposed to the light, but not in direct sunlight.
Periodically exposing to the light and back, clean in the dark. Can be placed under a fluorescent lamp. After a month of life, the germinated sprouts can be transplanted into a larger container.
